An introduction to Emmanuel House
Dear Friend, in 1995 I began seven years of training in Holistic Therapy working as a volunteer therapist in local hospitals, giving me the opportunity to worl alongside consultants caring for those living with cancer and the terminally ill.
My experience has included working for several years as a volunteer therapist at St. Bede's Unit at Dunstan Hill Hospice along with the chemotherapy day unit at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Gateshead.
With the opening of Emmanuel House on January 8th 2003 I have been fortunate enough to fulfil my vision to provide, completely free of charge, a place where people could come relaxed and be themselves, a place to feel safe, special, pampered but most of all welcome!
Emmanuel House is our family home and it has been a privilage to open it up to those who are affected by cancer. We have used our own resources to extend and adapt the home environment to meet the needs of others.
Emmanual House is a completely voluntary, non-profit making organisation and endeavours to provide a better quality of life for those affected by cancer, as it is the PEOPLES PLACE where they can come in time of need.
