An introduction to Emmanuel House
Dear Friends, You have enabled us to come a long way since we opened in January 2003. Many people have benefited from the support given here at Emmanuel House. Their lives and ours have been greatly enriched and from us all - we would like to say a BIG THANK YOU! Our patients, carers and families have enjoyed many social events such as outings, holidays, fan nights etc.
We now have a Friendship and Bereavement support group up and running, which have both proved invaluable. I have organised many fund raising events myself and me invaluable support of the public has enabled me to set up an equipment loan service for those in the wider community affected by cancer.
We have purchased three holiday homes, which are sited in Cragside Caravan Park Stanhope, Weardale. This is an area of outstanding beauty. This is where cancer patients and their families can have respite holidays completely free of charge. We also have access to a beautiful French chateau near Paris. Again, this is for cancer sufferers and their families.
My aims for the future are to expand even further. I plan to move Emmanuel House into larger premises. This will be done by either building or adapting a property situated within suitable grounds. This will mean that Emmanuel House will become both an holistic day centre and a place of retreat for cancer sufferers and their families. I have and will continue to work hard raising funds for Emmanuel House. However, the support of the public is still desperately needed and always will be.
My CD "Love is a Gift" is available here at Emmanuel House. We are looking for further outlets so please let us know if you can help with either this or other ways of Fundraising. We are always open to new ideas. Emmanuel House has its own trolley shopper Key rings priced at £1.50 each. Please contact us for details.
I would always make myself available for music and ministry and also to give talks on Emmanuel House. Many people, including representatives from organisations have come to visit us. To arrange a visit just give us a call, you would be most welcome.
